A former school bus driver and youth football coach from western Massachusetts has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges, but avoided jail time.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that 60-year-old Brian Schaffer, of Lee, received a two-year suspended sentence Tuesday after pleading guilty to four counts of possession of child pornography.
Prosecutors asked for 18 months in jail, with nine months to serve.
Schaffer came to the attention of police after he was seen photographing children at a water park in summer 2015. Authorities investigated and found the inappropriate images on his electronic storage devices.
Schaffer's lawyer said his client has a foot fetish and did not seek images of child pornography, but they would often be attached to other files while he sought images of children's feet.
