A former firefighter who was convicted of setting five fires one morning in Durham, New Hampshire, has appealed his case to the state Supreme Court.
Gregory Potter of Peterborough was convicted this year of five counts of arson and other offenses. He was sentenced July 31 to 4 to 14 years in state prison.
Police said the fires were set in February 2013 in four off-campus apartments rented by University of New Hampshire students and in an apartment attached to a private residence. No one was hurt.
Foster's Daily Democrat reports Potter filed his appeal Aug. 31 asking the court to examine four questions about the case including whether the judge made a mistake by not suppressing all of the statements made by Potter.
