Ex-Uber Driver Pleads Not Guilty to 2015 Sex Assault

Omar Nassir denied the sexual assault without consent charge for a second time Thursday

A former Burlington, Vermont, Uber driver has pleaded not guilty to a sexual assault charge.

The Burlington Free Press reports
that 24-year-old Omar Nassir denied the sexual assault without consent charge for a second time Thursday in Burlington.

Nassir initially pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault without consent and lewd and lascivious conduct after he was accused of sexually assaulting an incapacitated woman in February 2015.

The sexual assault charge was dismissed in the fall, but was reinstated after prosecutors filed a new affidavit last month that included an interview with his accuser.

A hearing is scheduled on a motion to dismiss in February. Nassir is free but not allowed to work for Uber or any other taxi service.
