Exterminators Continue Cleanup of House of Squalor

The conditions inside the house have been described by officials as like nothing they have ever seen

Exterminators are resuming work to clean up a vermin-infested home in Blackstone, Massachusetts in which the remains of three infants were found.

The conditions inside the house have been described by officials as like nothing they have ever seen.

Crews, in head-to-toe protective gear, removed more than twenty boxes of hazardous materials Monday.

Our first look inside the home comes from police photos of a marijuana growing and distribution operation, police allege, was found in the basement.

That same day, Aug. 28, three infants were found dead inside along with dead cats and dogs, piles of dirty diapers and other filth.

Four other children, the two youngest covered in feces and maggots, were removed from the house. They're all now in DCF custody.

Erika Murray, 31, who has told police she's the mother of all the children, now faces a number of charges including fetal death concealment. She is being held without bail.

According to a new police report, her alleged boyfriend and father of the children, Raymond Rivera, now faces numerous marijuana charges for that basement grow operation.

It also says Murray's older children, told police they didn't know who the younger children in the home belonged to.

The junk removal, de-contamination, and police overtime costs have hit over the $20,000 mark. The full cost will be billed to the woman who owns the home.

The investigation is still ongoing and many questions remain unanswered including how old the infants were, how they died, and if more charges will be filed against the parents of the children.

According to Erika Murray's attorney, she is in a prison unit for women who could pose a threat to themselves.
