Facebook Rant Gets Lowell Snow Plow Driver's Contract Terminated

Driver posted video to Facebook saying she would plow people's cars and driveways in

A Massachusetts snow plow driver has been fired by the city she works for after making threats to block people’s vehicles and driveways during a rant on Facebook.

Officials in Lowell said Demetria Vangos, a private contractor for the city, posted a video where she can be heard saying, “don’t shovel into the street on purpose when I am coming by. I will not hesitate to plow your car and house in.”

The rant by Vangos went on with expletives and was filled with anger.

“It was over the top. It was vulgar, it was threatening,” said Lowell City Manager Kevin Murphy.

The rant has resulted in the termination of the Vangos’ family contract for the city.

Vangos was not available for comment and her mother did not want to answer questions when necn stopped by the family's home.

“It was stupid but it’s also not something we’re going to tolerate,” Murphy said.

City officials have forwarded Vangos' Facebook post to the police department due to its threatening nature. Authorities are now looking into whether or not there will be criminal charges.
