Father Charged in 2-Year-Old Girl's Murder

A man has been arrested and charged in the murder of his 2-year-old daughter in Berlin, New Hampshire.

The office of New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster announced Friday that Roger Dana, the father of Madison Dana, would face a second degree murder charge in the child's death.

The victim was at home on York Street in Berlin on Sunday when authorities were called around 3:30 p.m. The child was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the early evening.

An autopsy conducted Monday morning by the medical examiner's officer determined the manner of death to be homicide, and the cause of death to be blunt impact injuries.

The attorney general's office alleges that Roger Dana physically assaulted the child repeatedly and exhibited "an extreme indifference to the value of human life."

Roger Dana is due to be arraigned Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Lancaster. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
