Few Opportunities for Rain

After a weekend that saw some beneficial storms and rain, we're heading into the workweek with high spirits.

Indeed, another batch of rain and storms will sweep through tomorrow as a vigorous weather system crosses through New England. Once again, the weather models are in overdrive with the rainfall amounts, and once again we need to use caution when interpreting the data. Some models spit out over 2" in parts of New England through tomorrow night! While that is possible in isolated spots, it's nearly impossible to pinpoint which town or city gets a direct hit. Unfortunately, there will be some spots that come away with far less, so this is not the demise of the drought.

Nor is it a change in the pattern. This storm system seems to be our only chance at any real rain in the next 7-10 days. This follows similar weeks this summer where we get a drink, then see the fruits of our labor vanish under blazing sun.

Humidity will be on the rise tomorrow as the winds turn southwest (and get rather gusty by tomorrow night in Southeast Mass). After this system passes, however, the air will become noticeably drier by Wednesday.

Some spectacular beach weather is expected later this week! Highs return to the mid and upper 80s with a cooler slant possible by the weekend.
