Filming Resumes for Movie Based on Boston Marathon Bombings

Wahlberg stars in the film, which is set to premiere in 2017, which recounts the terror attacks that killed three spectators and wounded more than 260 others on April 15, 2013

Filming resumed Wednesday in Massachusetts for "Patriots Day," the movie based on the Boston Marathon bombings starring Mark Wahlberg.

Wahlberg stars in the film, which is set to premiere in 2017, which recounts the terror attacks that killed three spectators and wounded more than 260 others on April 15, 2013. An MIT officer was killed in a subsequent shootout, bringing the death toll to four.

Harrison Street in Framingham, complete with Boston Police cruisers, was transformed to look like the Watertown neighborhood where the shootout between police and Tsarnaev brothers took place three years ago.

A replica of the boat where the younger brother, Dzhokhar, hid was also spotted.

Watertown decided against allowing the movie to film where the shootout happened.

Film crews were also spotted at the finish line of the 2016 Boston Marathon Monday shooting scenes for the movie.
