Firefighters Battle Blaze in Boston's North End

Firefighters responded to a roof fire on a building in Boston's North End on Thursday.

The fire was reported on the roof of 40 Battery Wharf around 12:30 p.m. Photos and video shared on Twitter show black smoke coming from a building that appears to be under construction.

Boston Fire said the fire was contained to the roof, and was caused by adhesives being used for roof work that combusted.

Water damaged a condominium unit on the sixth floor, estimated at $200,000.

One person was taken to a local hospital, and was treated and released.

Several people evacuated the building on their own, but everyone is back in except the resident of the water-damaged condo.
