Fire in Parking Garage at Rhode Island Airport; No One Hurt

A fire in a parking garage at Rhode Island's T.F. Green Airport caused some people to miss their flights but there were no reports of injuries.

Airport CEO Peter Frazier says four cars were destroyed in the blaze on the second floor of the garage reported at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The cause remains under investigation.

Police briefly closed the Airport Connector and some passengers were dropped off across the street and had to walk to the terminal.

Frazier said everything thing was back to normal by 6 a.m. and only a "handful" of people missed flights.

The garage will remain closed during the investigation, although vehicles already in the garage will be allowed to leave.
