After video showed students from a Massachusetts high school waving a Confederate flag in the parking lot, athletes and fans at a football game stood in solidarity against it.

The Newton North High School football team's captain addressed the crowd and asked fans to join the team in locking arms during the national anthem.

Dozens of students in the stands wore black. Some carried signs.

One of the four students who waved the flag spoke with necn on the phone. He said they were trying to test their First Amendment rights. All four students, he said, received suspensions of two or three days.
