A former Vermont teacher and coach at Oxbow Union High School in Bradford has been sentenced to seven months in prison for sexually assaulting a student more than a decade ago.
Forty-five-year-old Brian H. Musty was sentenced on Friday.
He pleaded guilty in March to one count of sexual assault of a victim under 18 who was entrusted to his care.
The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus reports that as part of the plea deal, he agreed to a sentence of three years to life, all suspended except for seven months.
Musty, a physical education teacher who coached girls' basketball, lacrosse and soccer, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student over three years, starting in 1997.
