Foster Mom to More Than 70 Children Dies of Lymphoma

A Braintree, Massachusetts, woman who became a foster mother to more than 70 children has died. 

According to the Boston Globe, Miriam Gannon died of lymphoma on Friday. 

She and her husband adopted nearly two dozen foster children and were legal guardians to many more. 

In 2010, her family was named as the International Family of the Year by the Knights of Columbus

Gannon was 82-years-old.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday in the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree at 10 a.m.
