Two people, one of whom was wanted for six bank robberies in Connecticut and New York, were arrested Saturday in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
Police say 37-year-old Juan Cruz, who is homeless, is accused of robbing banks in New Haven, Connecticut, and Albany, New York.
According to Chicopee Police, officers responded with U.S. Marshals to the Days Inn on Memorial Drive just before 8 p.m. Saturday. When they tried to capture Cruz, police say he jumped out a second-floor window.
As soon as he landed, police say, he was arrested.
Authorities also arrested 33-year-old Melissa Sandillo of Albany on a fugitive from justice warrant.
Chicopee Police Officer Michael Wilk said New Haven Police were interviewing both suspects, but New Haven Police confirmed that only Cruz was wanted for the robberies in that city.
It was not immediately clear why Sandillo was considered a fugitive, or whether either suspect had an attorney.
