Funeral Arrangements Made for Former Boston Mayor Tom Menino

Tom Menino's body will lie in state at Faneuil Hall on Sunday, Nov. 2

The funeral arrangements for former Boston Mayor Tom Menino were announced Thursday evening.

His body will lie in state at Faneuil Hall starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. This event will be open to the public.

His funeral mass will be on Monday, Nov. 3, at 12 p.m. at Most Precious Blood Parish in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood. This event is private.

Menino died Thursday at the age of 71 after battling cancer.

Father Charles Madi, a priest at the Most Precious Blood Parish, says the church can hold about 700 people. He wouldn't go into many details about what would specifically happen on Monday, but did hint to some surprises in store for the service.

"People are very excited to be there, but they are a little bit disappointed because they said that it will be a private mass and they cannot attend," Father Madi said about the parishioners.
