A 10-year-old St. Johnsbury, Vermont, girl says she has not received a birthday present in two years, instead requesting that donations be sent to the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
The Caledonian Record reports Rylie Bruzual broke her arm after falling off a horse when she was eight. She stayed there overnight for treatment.
Bruzual says the hospital has lots of things for younger kids, but not a lot for children her age. Now she wants to make sure older kids have things to do too.
Her birthday invitations come with guidelines for what to donate such as toys, puzzles, stuffed animals and games, all of which go to the hospital. The only exception is candy, which she says she always eats "just in case anyone has any allergies."
