Gold Star father Khizr Khan was in Boston on Monday to serve as the featured speaker at the annual Bill of Rights Dinner for the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Union.

Khan drew international attention for his speech at the 2016 Democratic National Convention when he criticized then Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump for attacking Muslims and targeting immigrants.

Monday's ACLU speech is his 111th since the DNC and he dismisses any notion that the Trump administration doesn't discriminate in its travel ban.

"When he spoke after becoming President to Rudy Giuliani, he said, 'I want to ban all Muslims.' So let's call it what it is. It's a Muslim ban," said Khan on Monday.

Since the DNC, Khan says his life has changed for the better.

"It has given me an opportunity to show my gratefulness for the dignities that this country, this nation bestowed upon me by allowing me to be a citizen of the United States," said Khan.

The ACLU says thanks to advocates like Khan, it's membership has quadrupled since the election.
