Although the beat goes on when it comes to clouds and showers, there are a few subtle changes in the atmospheric pattern that deliver some hope: drier air has arrived to Northern New England for some breaks of sun and highs near 60, even though showers continue in Southern New England with cooler highs in the 50s.
That drier air will continue to expand overnight Tuesday night into Wednesday, allowing for breaks of sunshine in many communities Wednesday, and therefore very slightly milder temperatures.

Another energetic disturbance riding in the jet stream winds aloft will drive toward New England late Wednesday, resulting in renewed blooming rain showers Wednesday evening through Wednesday night as a weak storm center develops offshore.
That weak storm center will ensure an onshore flow continues Thursday, keeping clouds and cool air in place with occasional showers.

The same setup may repeat later Friday into Friday night - another disturbance moving through the skies above, touching off another round of showers.

Our hope (and forecast) is for the weather pattern to start changing Saturday, allowing for more sun and a dry day with highs in the 60s before one more disturbance brings a round of showers for a part of Sunday.
