Cities around the Somerville, Medford area felt mother nature’s wrath early on Tuesday evening when a powerful storm rolled through bringing blinding rain and wind gusts estimated at 50 and 53 miles per hour.
Crews worked through the night clear trees and restore power to homes.
Wind damage was reported in South Boston, Somerville, Cambridge and Medford, according to weather spotter reports. There were also reports of pea-sized hail at Boston's Logan International Airport.
The storm was not a microburst, according to meteorologists, rather it was a severe thunderstorm.
