Groton police are looking for a robber who stole money from a Walmart on the Gold Star Highway in town.

Police responded to 150 Gold Star Highway at 12:24 p.m. on Sunday for a report of an armed robbery.

A man implied he had a gun and demanded money from the customer service desk in the Groton Walmart. The man never displayed a gun. No one was hurt in the incident.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a white newer two-door compact car parked in the Walmart parking lot and headed in the westbound direction on the Gold Star Highway, police said.

Police described the man as 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 tall and heavy-set. He had dark hair and side burns. That day, he was wearing a dark grey hat, a white button-down long-sleeve shirt that had thin, green stripes on it, a black T-shirt, dark pants and white shoes.

Groton police ask anyone with information on the robbery or robber to contact the department at 860-441-6712.
