A construction worker was fatally struck on Boston Post Road in West Haven on Wednesday night.
The crew from American Industries were in a vehicle that broke down near Meloy Road.
The woman, Jordan Garrett of Moosup, from the group was trying to stop traffic or slow it down when she was hit by another driver.
West Haven police said the 24-year-old died from her injuries after being transported to the hospital.
An investigation is underway.
