Hiker Dies of Apparent Heart Attack

It happened at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, Conn.

State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection environmental conservation police are investigating the untimely death of a 62-year-old hiker at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, Connecticut, on Sunday afternoon.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the man likely died of a heart attack, collapsing during a hike.

Hamden firefighters and EMS personnel and state police responded just before 3:30 p.m.

Environmental conservation police are investigating the death.
