An original copy of the operations order for dropping an atomic bomb on Hiroshima is on display at a private museum in the Boston suburbs as the 70th anniversary of the deadly attack approaches.

The bombing order is featured along with other artifacts related to the Aug. 6, 1945 attack, which ultimately killed 140,000 people and helped bring World War II to a close.

This image provided by the Museum of World War II Boston shows the operations order for Hiroshima, dated Aug. 5, 1945.

Museum of World War II founder Kenneth Rendell says the order provides a glimpse into what crew members experienced that fateful day.

The museum in Natick also houses a copy of the operations order for the bombing of Nagasaki three days later on Aug. 9, 1945.

Rendell purchased the documents from the family of Jacob Beser, the only crew member to fly both missions.
