Man's Body Found in Rubble of Saco, Maine Home Explosion

The explosion at the home on Pheasant Road happened around 1:30 a.m.

The state fire marshal's office says the body of a man has been pulled out from the rubble of a home following an explosion in Saco, Maine.

Officials say a 70-year-old man died in the blast, which happened at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Robert Eclair, a neighbor, said he and his wife heard what sounded like an earthquake, followed by popping, possibly from ammunition in the home. He said he looked out and saw the trailer engulfed.

Most of the home was razed and two vehicles outside were destroyed. The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
