Home to Be Torn Down After Parents' Murder

The home where a Manchester, New Hampshire, man is accused of murdering his parents before setting it on fire is soon to be torn down.

NH1 News reports attorneys said at a hearing for Matthew Dion Tuesday that the home would be demolished at the family's request. He appeared in Hillsborough County Superior Court.

The demolition is scheduled ahead of Dion's trial, which is now scheduled for January. Dion is accused of murdering his parents inside the home in March 2014. The home has since sat vacant and covered in blue tarps.

Dion was caught by U.S. Marshals in June and was indicted in September on charges including first- and second-degree murder, arson and child pornography.

If convicted, Dion faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
