Homeless Man Charged With Child Sex Abuse, Pornography

A homeless man is facing child sex abuse and pornography charges in New Hampshire, according to Concord police.

Gary Chalifoux, a registered sex offender in Concord, was arrested at a home on Maple Street in Manchester Tuesday and faces a slew of charges, including three counts aggravated felonious sexual assault and two counts each of manufacturing and possessing child sex abuse images.

Concord police say they started their investigation on Sunday after they learned Chalifoux was sexually abusing a young child and manufacturing child sex abuse images.

Through search warrants and numerous interviews, detectives learned that Chalifoux was allegedly abusing a child, and obtained an arrest warrant.

Chalifoux, 45, was arrested without incident. He was ordered to be held on $360,000 bail, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.

Detectives say they're investigating whether Chalifoux has cared for other children in the recent past.

The investigation is ongoing, and Chalifoux may face more charges in the future.
