Hooded Gunman Opens Fire on Group, Killing 1

It's unclear if anyone else was injured

Police are investigating after a hooded gunman opened fire on a group of friends hanging out on a street in Boston's Dorchester section. 

The Boston Herald reports a man in his 20s was killed in the shooting on Ripley Road, which was first reported around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. 

Witnesses told police a man in a black hoodie ran up to the group while they were standing on the sidewalk talking and fired approximately seven shots. 

The victim's body was removed from the scene by police at about 10:30 p.m. His name and age were not immediately released. 

It's unclear if anyone else was injured. 

No arrests have been reported.
