House Fire on New Hampshire's Long Island

The house at 18 Captain's Walk was fully engulfed

Firefighters from several Lakes Region fire departments fought a difficult house fire on Long Island in New Hampshire, Friday night, spraying water from fire trucks on land and from three fire boats from Lake Winnipesaukee.

The house at 18 Captain's Walk, reportedly a two-story cedar home on the island, which is connected to Moultonborough Neck by a vehicle bridge, was fully engulfed.

Originally a one-alarm fire, officers at the scene called for help from the water, and a fire dispatcher said boats and additional trucks were added to the first-alarm.

The fire was still not under control late last night.
