Hundreds of people waited in line on April 20 for their chance to get some free marijuana in Portland, Maine.
According to affiliate WCSH, author Crash Barry gave away an estimated 225 grams to people who knew a secret password.
Barry also checked to make sure all recipients were at least 21 years of age.
It is still illegal to sell marijuana in Maine.
City officials are looking into the legality of the event.
