Officials in New Hampshire say a minimum-security inmate has been placed on walkaway status after failing to return to his transitional housing unit in Concord.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections says Christopher William Wathen, 29, failed to return from work Monday night.

Officials say he left the North End Transitional Housing Unit for work Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. and was scheduled to return at 8 p.m.

He called for an extension until 11, which he was granted. Another extension was granted further into the night. He called at 3:30 Tuesday morning saying he was returning, but never did.

He was placed on walkaway status at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Wathen is a white male, 6’3” tall, 205 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

    He is serving a 2 ½ - 5-year sentence for a robbery.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the New Hampshire State Prison at 602-271-1801.
