Intersection Improvements Planned After Bicyclist Killed

Updated traffic signals and a protected bike lane are some of the changes coming to the intersection at Massachusetts Avenue and Beacon Street

Several improvements have been planned at a Back Bay intersection after a bicyclist was struck and killed earlier this month.

According to the Boston Globe, updated traffic signals and a protected bike lane are some of the changes coming to the intersection at Massachusetts Avenue and Beacon Street.

Anita Kurmann, 38, was struck and killed by a flatbed tractor-trailer on Aug. 7.

Initially considered a hit-and-run, police eventually located the driver, but were not sure whether he was aware of the crash.

The Globe reports that trees in the area will be trimmed to improve visibility.
