Judge Orders Kidnapping/Rape Cases Joined for 1 Trial

Nathaniel Kibby of Gorham, NH, to be tried in Laconia in April 2016

A judge is ordering that one trial be held for the New Hampshire man accused of kidnapping and raping a teen over the course of nine months.

Superior Court Chief Justice Tina Nadeau ordered that Nathaniel Kibby of Gorham be tried in Belknap County Superior Court in Laconia in April 2016.

Prosecutors say the 34-year-old Kibby kidnapped the 14-year-old girl on her way home from school in Conway on Oct. 9, 2013. They say he kept her in his Gorham home and in a storage unit until July 2014, when she returned home.

He was indicted in both Carroll and Coos counties. Both sides in the case agreed to the consolidation.
