Driver Arrested After Logging Truck Crashes Into House, Knocking Off Garage

The truck was considered a total loss

A man was arrested Saturday after he drove a tractor trailer cab through a utility pole and a house, knocking the garage off the residence.

Christopher Crowe is charged with aggravated criminal mischief, according to Maine State Police, and additional charges are pending.

Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, state police said they responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on River Road in Oakfield, Maine. Crowe was reportedly operating a 2002 Western Trailer Truck on River Road when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve. The truck left the road and hit a utility pole, cutting it in half. The truck then continued onto a private lawn, striking a residence. The impact detached the garage from the house and caused significant damage.

The truck, owned by Sides Logging of Sherman, Maine, was considered a total loss.
