The MSPCA in Boston has rescued 16 purebred Shih Tzus, including 10 puppies, and four Siamese cats from a home in Marlborough, Massachusetts, on Monday.

The organization says the animals were dirty, but they are friendly and are resting in the city's Jamaica Plain neighborhood adoption center.

The MSPCA expects them to be adopted quickly due to the popularity of the breeds.

There are no charges against the animals' previous owner. The MSPCA says she realized she could not optimally care for the animals and reached out for help from the organization.
