Maine AG Sues Planned Parenthood Protester

Maine's attorney general has filed a complaint under the state's civil rights act against a man she says yelled so loud in protest outside of Planned Parenthood that he disrupted services at the facility.

Attorney General Janet Mills says 26-year-old Brian Ingalls of Lisbon violated the rights of patients at the Portland facility on Oct. 23. She says he yelled so loud toward the second floor of the facility that his voice interfered with the delivery of health care services. A complaint says a police officer warned Ingalls to stop, but he did not.

Ingalls declined to comment when reached Tuesday by e-mail. Mills says Ingalls had the right to protest, but not to disrupt.

Planned Parenthood didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
