Maine Police Arrest Man in Connection With Shooting Death

The shooting took place back in June

Maine state police say a 24-year-old Wilton man has been arrested in connection with the June shooting death of another man.

Police say Timothy Danforth was arrested following an indictment on charges of murder, manslaughter and aggravated assault. He is charged in the death of 24-year-old Michael Reis of New Sharon.

Police say the shooting took place in the early morning hours of June 1 outside Danforth's father's house in Wilton. They say Reis was one of a group of people who went to the house and got into a confrontation with occupants of the home, including Danforth and his father.

Danforth is expected to appear in court for the first time on either Friday or Monday. It was on unclear on Thursday if he had an attorney.
