Maine Voters Face Several Tight Elections

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is also fighting hard to take an electoral vote out of Maine

Maine voters face a number of tight elections, including one of the most closely watched congressional races in the country and a decision about whether to legalize marijuana.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is also fighting hard to take an electoral vote out of Maine. The state portions out electoral votes by congressional district, and polls show a tight race in the district for northern Maine.

Marijuana legalization tops a list of six ballot questions. Voters must also choose between first-term Republican U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin and Democratic former state Sen. Emily Cain. It's the most expensive U.S. House race in Maine history.

Voters also face several ballot questions. They include expanding background checks for gun sales, increasing the minimum wage and taxing high earners to pay for education.
