Making the Grade: Chefs in Schools Program

Project Bread has found a home in many Massachusetts school cafeterias

Project Bread has long been associated with the annual Walk for Hunger, but in recent years, it has expanded its mission and found a home in many Massachusetts school cafeterias.

The organization's Chefs in School program is impacting the health and education of thousands of Bay State students.

The program, which started in 2006 as a pilot project in Boston Public Schools and has since expanded through grants to other cities, was born out of the idea that kids are not eating as healthy as they could be and therefore not learning at their highest potential.
