3-Alarm Fire Breaks Out at Liquor Store in Malden, Massachusetts

One firefighter suffered minor injuries

Firefighters responded to two fires at around the same time in Malden, Massachusetts on Tuesday morning.

Aerial footage showed flames ripping through a liquor store on Medford Street. Officials said the blaze rose to three alarms before it was extinguished.

Revere, Melrose and Chelsea fire departments responded for mutual aid.

Fire officials said part of the roof of the building collapsed, and one firefighter suffered minor injuries.

The owner reportedly saw smoke when he arrived on Tuesday morning and tried to put out the flames, but the fire spread too quickly. The liquor store was the only occupant of the building.

Malden Fire dispatchers said crews also responded to another fire on Daniels Street on Tuesday morning.

Viewer video showed a neighborhood filling with smoke as firefighters fought the fire on Medford Street.
