The Rockland, Massachusetts, community is shaken up after a senior with a promising future's life came to a tragic end hours into the new year.
Patrick Sullivan, 17, was the driver of one of three vehicles that crashed at the corner of Beech Street and Standpipe Drive around 2:50 a.m. Thursday. Police say they tried to extricate Sullivan from out of the destroyed car, but it was too late.
One other person was transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash was so bad it left yards of debris alongside Beech Street.
Police are still investigating whether the drivers were racing.
