Man Accused in Mashpee, Massachusetts, Standoff Faces Multiple Charges

Patrick S. Perkins was arrested after being released from Falmouth Hospital

State police say an armed man who barricaded himself inside a Massachusetts store on Wednesday was arrested and charged after being released from the hospital.

Patrick S. Perkins, 41, of Falmouth was arrested at Falmouth Hospital Thursday after being released and was taken to Mashpee's police department, where he is facing multiple charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.

There's no word on when he'll be arraigned or if he has an attorney.

The standoff at Audio Video Solutions Inc. off of Route 28 in Mashpee started just after noon Wednesday, and ended more than seven hours later.

A SWAT team and crisis negotiators were brought in to assist.

It's not clear how the standoff started, but police say that at one point, Perkins fired off a round inside the store, and told police he was armed with an AR-15 rifle with more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
