Vermont State Police have arrested a man accused attacking another person in a road rage incident

Vermont State Police have arrested a man accused attacking another person in a road rage incident in Cavendish.

Witnesses say Nathan Lambert, 34, of Cavendish, was allegedly tailgating Travis Allen, 23, of Chester. When both vehicles stopped for a bus, Lambert allegedly got out of his vehicle and reached in Allen’s vehicle, punching Allen repeatedly.

Allen told police when he attempted to get out of his car and take down Lambert’s license plate number, Lambert began punching him again.

Witnesses say they intervened and Lambert drove away.

When police found Lambert, he told them Allen threw an object at his car as Allen drove by and kicked his headlights, which is what precipitated the punches.

Lambert was taken into custody Thursday at 9:40 a.m.

He was charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault and false information to a police officer. He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 27.
