Man Accused of Hanging Devices on Power Lines Due in Court

FBI agents arrested Danny Kelly over the weekend, days after the devices were found

A 61-year-old man suspected of hanging suspicious devices on power lines in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, will be in court Monday.

FBI agents arrested Danny Kelly over the weekend, days after the devices were found.

He is accused of planting incendiary devices police say were "similar in structure to pipe bombs" near National Grid telephone wires.

The devices were deemed safe, but did spark a brush fire on Wednesday. Fortunately no one was injured.

Court documents show Kelly pled guilty to extortion in 2005, after authorities learned he had been cutting cable lines and writing to Verizon and Comcast, threatening to continue if they didn't pay him thousands of dollars every month.
