Man Accused of Meth, Cocaine Operation Arrested

Federal authorities have filed a criminal complaint against a Vermont man who they say ran a large-scale drug business.

The Burlington Free Press reports federal prosecutors filed a complaint this week in U.S. District Court in Burlington claiming Dean Shores, of Burlington, was in possession of more than 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute the drugs.

Shores was arrested last week by Massachusetts State Police at Logan International Airport as he prepared to travel to California. According to court documents, Shores was found in possession of 20 grams of meth, hydrocodone pills, money, cellphones and a pistol magazine.

Prosecutors say Shores admitted to selling meth and other drugs after a search of a Winooski business and his home yielded almost 300 grams of meth in May.

A lawyer was not listed for Shores.
