Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting, Impregnating Teen

The Connecticut Post reports that 29-year-old William Mejia-Alas is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond

A Bridgeport, Connecticut, man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl and getting her pregnant.

The Connecticut Post reports that 29-year-old William Mejia-Alas is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond on charges of first-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child.

Authorities say the suspect and girl lived in the same apartment building. The girl told police that Mejia-Alas would come up from his first-floor apartment to her family's second-floor apartment under the guise of keeping an eye on the girl while her mother worked. Police say they had sex multiple times.

Mejia-Alas denied sexually assaulting the girl in an interview with police, saying she constantly asked him to have sex.
