A Williamstown, Vermont man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a buck hanging at another hunter’s home.

According to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, Vermont State Game Wardens arrested Joshua Young.

On Nov. 14, Estey Manning reported the theft of his 145-pound buck to police. He checked it in two days earlier at a game reporting station. He provided a photo to a game warden.

On the same day the buck was stolen, wardens say Young tried to report the buck at the same station.

Young allegedly acknowledged he stole the buck from Manning.

He was charged with transporting a deer taken by another person without that person present.

Young is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 28.
