Man Arrested After Pursuit, Crash

Tommy Rogers, 29, of Manchester, New Hampshire, is accused of fleeing from cops with a stolen vehicle

New Hampshire State Police arrested a Manchester man accused of being in possession of a stolen car and leading police on a pursuit Tuesday evening.

At 10:15 Tuesday night, a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle in Salem, New Hampshire at the Massachusetts state line that had just been broadcast as a stolen vehicle. The operator had reportedly just fled authorities in Manchester.

The officer turned on his emergency lights and the vehicle pulled over into the breakdown lane after crossing the state line. Shortly after, the vehicle took off.

The officer pursued the vehicle on Interstate 93 and then into Methuen, Massachusetts, where the driver crashed into a utility pole on Oak Street. The car split in half as a result of the crash and had to be removed by two tow trucks. The utility pole was damaged as a result of the crash as well.

The male driver and female passenger then fled on foot. Both the male and female were located inside a McDonald's restaurant by Methuen Police.

The driver was identified as Tommy Rogers, 29, of Manchester, and was arrested for being a fugitive of justice, speeding and receiving stolen propert, among other charges. He faces numerous additional charges in New Hampshire.

The female was interviewed at the scene and was not charged. Neither she nor Rogers were injured in the crash.

Rogers was scheduled to be arraigned in Lawrence District Court on Wednesday.
