Man Arrested, Charged With Fifth DUI

Offucers observed the suspects commit several marked lanes violations

A Leicester, Massachusetts, man is currently behind bars after police arrested and charged him with a fifth DUI offense.

Police learned of the man's whereabouts when another motorist reported an erratic operator on Rt. 9 southbound Wednesday evening.

Shortly thereafter, officers located the Jeep that they were search of and observed the driver commit several marked lanes violations.

After pulling over the vehicle, police asked the suspect to produce his license, which took five minutes to. The officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

A brief investigation was conducted. The suspect failed a field sobriety test. Police say the man was so intoxicated that they feared he would fall and injure himself.

The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Leicester Police Department where he was subsequently booked. The suspect was held without bail, pending a dangerous hearing on Monday.
