Man Arrested for Hitting 134 MPH on Motorcycle

Police say Daniel Thibeault was riding recklessly on I-93 in Canterbury, NH

A Massachusetts man has been arrested after New Hampshire State Police say their aircraft clocked him at 134 mph on his motorcycle Monday morning.

According to police, 31-year-old Daniel Thibeault of Swansea was observed going 64 mph over the posted 70 mph speed limit on I-93 southbound in Canterbury. Troopers decided not to chase him and asked the aircraft to follow him.

An observer in the plane estimated that Thibeault was passing cars at speeds estimated to be between 150 and 185 mph.

Police say Thibeault used breakdown lanes on both sides of the highway and the middle of the road to pass vehicles. They say he passed more vehicles on the ramp while exiting onto I-393 westbound.

Troopers arrested Thibeault when he stopped on North Main Street in Concord.

Thibeault is charged with reckless conduct, disobeying an officer and driving after suspension. He was held on $1,000 bail and is due in court on Tuesday.
