Police have charged a New Haven, Connecticut, man with stabbing an acquaintance over a $12 debt.

The New Haven Register reports
police were dispatched to Yale-New Haven Hospital on Saturday to speak a 25-year-old man who had been stabbed behind an ear and suffered slash wounds to his back, neck, and shoulders.

The victim told police that Henry Muy had knocked on his apartment door and began stabbing him after he opened it. Muy told officers the victim owed him $12, but he did not remember stabbing him.

Muy was charged with first-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Police say the victim's injuries are not non-life threatening.

Muy does not have a listed phone number in New Haven and attempts to reach him Tuesday morning for comment were not successful.
